One would think that while being unemployed I would update the blog daily, but July came and went and, now, August is more than half way over. Anyhow, July was hot, busy and fun.
- Sunflower from the garden, which they and the 20 or so stray cats took over this year and pushed out the tomatos from really producing
- July 4th in our backyard. Luckily the shirt from last year fit Emil just right!
- really serious about potato sald, chicken, and slaw. he loves slaw!
- The second week in July we headed off to Portland to celebrate Michele’s 10th wedding anniversary. After many delays leaving we arrived.
- Emil was a really good sport and enjoyed the children’s play area in the Chicago airport (we had a 4 hour layover)
- Dad & Emil enjoying the goats at the Portland Zoo
- Off to visit the Willamette Valley for some wine tasting
- Beautiful and tasty
- We found our way to a nice scenic overlook – mostly by sight not from the GPS
- huge slug that could have passed for poop
- Gramps and Nana say goodbye
- Aunt Michelle & Uncle Max say goodbye
- Emil thoroughly enjoying the blueberries we brought back from a farm in Oregon. I thought there would be enough to make muffins or something, but he ate them all entirely too fast.
- Emil likes to help water the garden
- And look at planes making way to Laguardia airport. He will hear them from inside the house and point outside.
- Future American Gladiator?
- Emil and I at one of the only outdoor dance performances we made it to this summer. A tribute concert to the passing of Merce Cunningham. It was kind of mediocre but it was a fantastic evening in Lower Manhattan.
- Dinner time
- My first cousin, Ariel, finally met Emil at the end of August while visiting NYC (seen here at Katz’s)
